Through club activities Toastmasters helps its members improve communication and leadership skills while fostering self-confidence and personal growth. From a humble beginning in 1924 , Toastmasters has become a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience with nearly 235,000 members in 92 countries, offering a proven – and enjoyable – way to practice and hone communication and leadership skills. Local Toastmaster clubs meet periodically for members to practice and learn skills in a cooperative and supportive atmosphere by giving a prepared or impromptu speech or by serving any one of several meeting roles.
